EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING: MY TEACHER
February 13-15, 2004
Four Rivers Cultural Center
Ontario, Oregon

Greetings to the Delegates of the Northwest District:

On behalf of the members of the Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple and the convention committee, we would like to welcome you to the 2004 Northwest District Convention here in Ontario, Oregon. We hope that you enjoy your stay and are able to renew old friendships and form new ones this weekend. After all, it is Valentine's Day!

Our goal for this weekend is to provide you with an opportunity to examine your Jodo Shinshu religion. The theme "Everyone and Everything: My Teacher" focuses on the search for "teachers" that will help us understand the life of Nembutsu. We hope that the program will be a jumping-off point to help you find teachers to guide you on your life's path.

Invest your time this weekend in talking to old and new friends. Ask questions. Participate in discussions and workshops. You may be surprised to discover a new teacher in an unexpected place. You may also be surprised that you have become a teacher for another member of our Sangha.

Once again, welcome to Ontario. Let us know what we can to do make your stay more enjoyable.

In Gassho,

Kathy Chatterton and Roy Hasebe
Co-Chairmen, 2004 Northwest District Convention
